Dr. Timea Spitka is a current fellow at the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University and a former Sofie Davis postdoc Fellow at Hebrew University. Her areas of expertise include human security, gender, conflict and conflict resolution, international intervention, and children's rights. She is the author of National and International Civilian Protection Strategies in the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict (2023), International Intervention, Identity and Conflict Transformation: Bridges and Walls Between Groups (2015) and many scholarly journals. Formerly a journalist, Dr Spitka has worked for several international organizations including the United Nations and Oxfam on projects and issues focused on gender, peace and human security.
