The book: NoViolet Bulawayo's We Need New Names, Zimbabwe

It was one of those books that people couldn't stop talking about when it came out in 2013, after the first chapter won the prestigious Caine Prize. The book's been applauded for its unique use of voice and language, and also criticized for its choice of topics - which together have made it the focus of very much critical attention, and a very interesting read.
